Start Place: Refer appropriate wind direction course map (below).
Skill Level: Confident kite foiler, ability to self-rescue / pack down, confidently rides upwind and down wind.
Safety: All the following items must to be worn Buoyancy Aid (legally required as more than 400m from shore). All the following items are recommended to be worn Helmet, Kite Knife and Wetsuit.
The Saturday Olympic Course Foil Race is an opportunity for kite foiler’s to test their skills /abilities in a race around an Olympic sailing course. It begins with an official start and after entrants have crossed the start line, they’ll proceed around the triangle (port side rounding’s), then round a sausage and finish up with an upwind leg to the finish line.
This race is being conducted in accordance with Yachting Australia Rules and International Kite Boarding Association starting sequence. Protests are to be lodged within 30 min of race completion and hearings will be held prior to presentations.
